Mazda’s CX-5 was a highly anticipated release in 2022, a showcase of Mazda’s engineering prowess.
As Creative Director, I led the campaign with one clear goal: to elevate the CX-5’s appeal and connect it emotionally to our young, urban audience.
We needed to break through the typical car ads, so we crafted a subtle yet compelling narrative that aligned the CX-5’s craftsmanship with their lifestyles.

Our key ad, “Freshly Baked,” paralleled the precision of baking with the craftsmanship of the CX-5, set against the backdrop of L.A.
This narrative, combined with Dynamic Optimized Video technology, allowed us to create 86 personalized video variations, offering tailored experiences based on user behavior, location, and preferences.
This campaign not only showcased the vehicle’s features but also provided a seamless, personalized digital marketing experience that truly connected with our audience.
“Freshly Baked”
The spot "Freshly Baked" was the heart of our campaign, a narrative I personally oversaw, which invited our audiences on an evocative journey through the streets of L.A on the hunt for the perfect loaf.
The story paralleled the dedication and craftsmanship of a master baker in search of the perfect loaf with the care and attention to detail you can find inside the newly redesigned 2023 Mazda CX-5.

This campaign was created using the Dynamic Content Video (DCO) modular framework to create personalized ads based on an individual user behavior, location, shopping signals, and preferences.
With Smart Ad Serving technology, the campaign generated 86 unique pieces of content that resonated with different audience segments across the nation.
The real-time rendering of these videos highlighted the diverse features of the CX-5, providing a personalized viewing experience.
