Overview

In 2023, Mazda partnered with Disney to introduce the CX-50 in an 8-part series featuring Chef Melissa King.

The Concept

Take viewers deep into nature, blending the thrill of the outdoors with the art of foraging and cooking, all while showcasing the CX-50’s rugged design.

My Role

As Creative Director, I shaped the campaign to go beyond a typical vehicle launch. Chef King, alongside Nat Geo explorers, used the CX-50 to discover ingredients in the wild and craft incredible dishes, all while highlighting the vehicle’s connection to nature.

Each episode was hosted on a dedicated content hub, making it easy for viewers to follow along, dive into behind-the-scenes footage, and feel connected to the outdoors in a new way.

This branded content earned multiple awards, including Best Branded Content at the ThinkLA Awards, Addys, and Effies, cementing Mazda’s place as a brand that celebrates adventure and creativity.

Objective

Our objective was to introduce Mazda’s first outdoor vehicle to outdoor enthusiasts so we set out to create an 8-part series featuring award-winning Chef Melissa King traveling across the country in the CX-50 accompanied by Nat Geo explorers.
