In 2023, Mazda partnered with Disney to launch the CX-50 in an 8-part series featuring Chef Melissa King. The series merges outdoor adventure, foraging, and cooking while showcasing the CX-50’s rugged design.
As Creative Director, I aimed for uniqueness, with Chef King and National Geographic explorers using the CX-50 to source wild ingredients for impressive dishes.
Each episode was accessible on a content hub for easy viewing and enhanced outdoor experiences. The campaign won multiple awards, including Best Branded Content at the ThinkLA Awards, Addys, and Effies, reinforcing Mazda’s adventurous and creative image.
Objective
Our objective was to introduce Mazda’s first outdoor vehicle to outdoor enthusiasts so we set out to create an 8-part series featuring award-winning Chef Melissa King traveling across the country in the CX-50 accompanied by Nat Geo explorers.
Our cooking series featured the CX-50 in nature with celebrity chef Melissa King and won several awards, including Best Branded Content at the ThinkLA Awards.
